Before an opera­tion is performed, other causes should be ruled-out.

In many cases excess breast tissue can be removed by liposuc­tion. In addition, removal of the remai­ning tissue is sometimes neces­sary. This can be performed by a small proce­dure. The outpa­tient opera­tion takes about 2–3 hours and can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia if requested.

What do I need to know about the period after the surgery?

After 14 days the stitches are removed. Also, a special compres­sion garment must be worn for 6 weeks to keep the swelling low and to aid in the skin shrin­king process.
