In many cases excess breast tissue can be removed by liposuction. In addition, removal of the remaining tissue is sometimes necessary. This can be performed by a small procedure. The outpatient operation takes about 2-3 hours and can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia if requested.
What do I need to know about the period after the surgery?
After 14 days the stitches are removed. Also, a special compression garment must be worn for 6 weeks to keep the swelling low and to aid in the skin shrinking process.
